Your data, on your terms.
Terum is built to read your team's signal so it can route what matters, without ever owning, selling, or exploiting it. Your content stays yours, and you decide what we get to see.
The short version
If you read nothing else, read this:
- We never sell your data.
- We never train AI models on your content.
- We never use your data for advertising.
- You can disconnect or delete anything, anytime.
What we collect
To do its job, Terum collects a small, deliberate set of information:
- Content from the tools you connect. When you link a source such as Slack, GitHub, Linear, Notion, or Google Workspace, we read messages, issues, documents, and activity relevant to your team's work.
- Your account details. Name, email, workspace, and the role you hold on your team.
- Basic product usage. Anonymous, aggregate signals about how the product is used, so we can keep it reliable.
Every connection is read-only. Terum never writes to, edits, or posts in your tools, and you choose which tools to link. Nothing is connected without your explicit action.
How we use it
We use the content you connect to build a working picture of your team, then route the right things to the right people:
- We construct your team's typed context map: who works on what, which threads relate, and where decisions live.
- We score relevance so each person sees only what matters to them.
- We route what matters into the tools your team already uses.
Conversation and signal text is distilled into short, structured notes and vector embeddings. We keep what is needed to make context useful, not a verbatim copy of everything you say.
Who processes your data
We rely on a few trusted vendors to run the product. Each is bound as a processor: they may handle your data only to provide their service to us, never for their own purposes.
- OpenAI · generates the vector embeddings that power relevance.
- Supabase · our database and storage.
- Vercel · application hosting.
- Resend · transactional email.
- Stripe · payments and billing.
- Google · optional Workspace import, only if you connect it.
What we never do
Some lines we will not cross:
- We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
- We do not train third party models, or our own foundation models, on your content.
- We do not use your data for advertising or build ad profiles of you or your team.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active, so Terum can stay useful day to day. When you request account deletion, we delete your data within 30 days, across our systems and our processors, with no residue left behind.
Security
Your data is protected with encryption at rest, row level security so one team can never reach another's data, and least privilege access that keeps internal access tightly scoped. For the full picture, see our security practices.
Your controls
You stay in charge from your settings, at any time:
- Pause capture per source, so a tool stays connected but quiet.
- Disconnect any tool with a single action.
- Export your data.
- Delete your account and everything tied to it.
Cookies
We use minimal, essential cookies for authentication and core product function. We do not use ad trackers or third party advertising cookies.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the update on this page and bump the date at the top. Material changes will be communicated clearly.
